Frequently Asked Questions
Is there a deductible on the warranty that comes with a Ford Certified Pre-Owned vehicle?
Yes, there is a $100 deductible for repairs completed under the Ford Certified Pre-Owned 12-month/12,000-mile Comprehensive Limited Warranty and 7-year/100,000-mile Powertrain Limited Warranty. However, if there is any remaining coverage from the original Ford New-Vehicle Limited Warranty, that would have a $0 standard deductible per repair visit.
Can I still buy extended warranty?
Ford Certified Pre-owned vehicles automatically come with a pretty good warranty, but if you would like a more comprehensive or longer-lasting warranty then that is certainly an option. FOr more information, speak with a representative from our finance department.
What does the warranty cover?
The 12-month/12,0000-mile Comprehensive Limited Warranty covers most things - it's comparable to the bumper-to-bumper warranty that comes with new vehicles. The 7-year/100,000-mile Powertrain Limited Warranty covers major components of the engine and transmission. The For a detailed list of parts coverage, check out the brochure.
Where do I go when I need my Ford Certified Pre-Owned vehicle repaired?
Covered repairs may be performed at any participating Ford or Lincoln Dealership in the continental United States, Alaska, Hawaii and Canada. Covered repairs on a Ford vehicle must be performed by a Ford or Lincoln Dealership, except in an emergency (if your covered vehicle is inoperable and all participating Ford and Lincoln Dealership service departments are closed).
Is the warranty transferable if I decide to sell my car before the Ford Certified Pre-Owned warranty has ended?
Yes, if you sell your Ford Certified Pre-Owned vehicle before the warranty coverage expires, then the leftover warranty coverage remains in effect for the new owner.
Do I get a loaner vehicle when my vehicle is in for service?
If your vehicle is inoperative and must be kept overnight for a covered repair, including recalls involving a Ford Certified Pre-Owned Comprehensive Limited Warranty covered component or a Ford Certified Pre-Owned Powertrain Limited Warranty covered component, you will be reimbursed up to $30 per day (including tax) for up to five days or until repair is complete, whichever comes first.
How do all these Ford Certified Pre-Owned warranties stack on top of each other?
First, if still in effect, coverage is provided for the remainder of the Ford New-Vehicle Bumper-to-Bumper Limited Warranty. (See the New-Vehicle Limited Warranty owner’s guide for details.) Second, Ford Certified Pre-Owned Comprehensive Limited Warranty coverage is provided for 12 months or 12,000 miles (whichever comes first) from the expiration of the Ford New-Vehicle Bumper-to-Bumper Limited Warranty or the date of your Certified Pre-Owned vehicle purchase, whichever comes later. Note: The coverage provided by the Ford Certified Pre-Owned Comprehensive Limited Warranty is not as extensive as that provided under the New-Vehicle Limited Warranty. Powertrain Limited Warranty coverage: Powertrain Limited Warranty coverage is provided by the Ford Certified Pre-Owned Powertrain Limited Warranty for 7 years or 100,000 miles (whichever comes first) from the original Ford New-Vehicle Limited Warranty start date.
